I've invested more time in this picture than probably any other picture that I've ever worked on. I really wanted to push my digital painting skills this time, and I'm really happy with the way this picture turned out.
It's based on the fairy tale The Frog Prince. I wanted it to look like a traditional fairy tale picture, but with a bit of humor in it as well. I took my own reference photos for the princess - I actually dressed up and set the timer on my camera and posed, since no one else was around at the moment I got the idea for this picture. I painted it all in Photoshop with my tablet. It took countless hours to get this picture to a point where I was happy with it, but it was all worth it. This was completed in March of 2007.

Wow that´s amazing how living the picture looks! And the natural colors used there create a great atmosphere. I really really like it. Ant the clothes are drawn perfectly. And the face as well. and the frog. and the surroundings. well everything´s perfect great work.
ewww. I would hate to have a slimy frog on my hair. I don't care that he might be a prince and give me lots of dosh' that is no excuse for jumping in young girls hair!
I love how you worked the blue around the piece (the sky, then her eyes, then the ring, then the sky again). My art teacher would probably make our class analyze this, that's how good it is both technically and compositionally.
The colors are amazing... well, everything here is. I'm kind of speechless!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
