This drawing was an assignment for my freshman year drawing studio. It's based off of a picture of Bono that I found on the internet. I drew it in 2001, using pen and ink on illustration board - and trust me, this took forever! I had to do every single one of those little black dots by hand. Even the concentrated spots are black dots, not white dots on black.

But, it was all worth it because the drawing came out great, I got an A+ on it, and it won me $20 in my dorm's art show. Plus it got printed in the student newspaper! So needless to say, I am incredibly proud of this drawing.

yes I can see teh work and efford you put in this baby! I once tried a "dot"painting - I gave up. The Fly was my fav Bono (if I can say that ) and this picture is awesome. I am negatively surprised how little attention it apparently got so far - I mean come on - this a wonderful and highly skilled piece of art. Very accurate light/ shadow work there :thumbup:

Wow! Fantastic pic of Bono! Very nice work with the dots, Im sure its even more impressive up close.

Hey thanks! Always nice to come across a fellow Bono fan. The dots were a bit insane - I'd work on it while watching movies with my friends and they'd always be like, "What the heck is that tapping sound?" Heh heh :-)

Ive preordered the deluxe box and will be at my favorite cd store first thing sunday morning (Australia gets it on the 21st). Ive been trying to get through this radio station contest that has having a free listening party to winners, but thats been unsussesful (I have plans that day, anyway). Its a rare, special event, so Im not listening to the radio stations, who are allowed to play any track in advance, and I wouldnt dream of downloading it.
