Artist's Comments
This picture was inspired by an art trade between myself and TallyCat. She suggested a handsome sailor with dark hair and blue eyes, and since I always enjoy drawing a pretty face I thought that it seemed like a great suggestion. In return, she drew me not just one, but two pictures of my pirate character, Liam. So enjoy the pretty sailor boy, TallyCat! 
I had fun making it. 
The sailor's face was inspired by a photo of the actor who played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. When I'm drawing someone, it helps me to have a photo to look at. Just makes drawing bone structure and stuff easier. As such, it's not meant to look exactly like that actor, since it's a loose inspiration. I figured I should just go ahead and mention that inspiration though, to save people from asking me about it in their comments. The ship, sky, and ocean are all based on photographs that I've taken. This was all painted in Photoshop with my tablet and was completed in January of 2006.
