Finn's crew had taken a beating. In a rare move, Her Majesty's royal navy had taken them by surprise, killing the pirates' captain in the ambush. Luckily for the crew, they managed an escape under Finn's cunning direction. He even was able to salvage some of the loot, so the expedition wasn't a total loss. Yes, they were burned and yes, they were bloodied. But were they broken? Never.


I'd like to introduce you to Finn (short for Finnigan). He's my newest sailor/pirate character. Finn has suddenly found himself to be the new captain of his ship. He's a tough fellow, and what he lacks in captaining experience he more than makes up for with his quick wit and the ability to think on his feet.

This was drawn on watercolor paper with brown colored pencil and then painted over with a series of ink washes. All color was added in Photoshop with my tablet. From June of 2006.
