Artist's Comments

James Dean is a name that I've always associated with the old Hollywood cool. I based this drawing of him off of a photograph from Roy Schatt's Torn Sweater Series. This was drawn with pen and ink on Bristol Board and was completed in September of 2003.

niftay. Lines are the sort of smooth that one only associates with antialiased vector art. And James Dean.

Hehe - thanks! And no vector art here, it was done with ink on bristol board. It's more fun to draw this stuff on paper than on the computer :-)

Alright! James Dean. I see so few things of him here on DA. I want to do a pencil drawing of him but haven't got around to doing it yet. This is really good. :)

James Dean too? Well...this just made my night. *sigh* The Bad Boy himself... I like Cary Grant and Gene Kelley as well...though they can't really be called bad boys....at all.
