Artist's Comments

I got the idea for this picture after spending a few days raking leaves outside. It's inspired by my love of autumn and my love of fairy tales. This isn't specifically Sleeping Beauty, but more of just a general fairy tale-esque picture.

The line art was inked on paper and then I painted on a series of ink washes. After that, I scanned it and all the color was added in Photoshop with my tablet. A step by step version of this can be found here. Full view is strongly recommended!

Oh, and the title is inspired by The Beatles' song Golden Slumbers:
Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

Hmm, just work on the nose a bit ^^ Other than that it looks wonderful...

I think I shall fav this :heart:

And also, I love Autumn a lot as well. I can't decide whether I like Spring or Autumn better...but I must say I absoultely adore the beautiful colors of Autumn, the way the leaves change colors and all, the perty oranges, yellows, and reds and the way the weather is too ^^ xD Just my opinion...
