This portrait of Gambit was done for the Superhero Masterpiece Project that's been organized by
 .Alphonse Mucha is one of my favorite artists, and Gambit is probably my favorite superhero, so I decided to make my picture of Gambit in the art nouveau style and to have it mimic Mucha's Job Cigarettes poster. I looked through tons of Mucha's work before I finally decided on using that poster as the basis for my entry to the Masterpiece project. It was a lot of fun to make this!  I drew and painted all of this in Photoshop with my tablet. Completed in November of 2006. Yeah, Gambit is one of the X-men. He's definitely up there among the most popular characters among fans. You find him paired off with Rogue most of the time, and he's even had his own comic series.
